Contributing to the UBC

Picture
Giving is essential to the practice of Buddhism. Giving includes charity, or giving material help to people in need. It also includes giving spiritual guidance to those who seek it and loving kindness to all who need it. The latter is the path that monks and nuns traditionally dedicate themselves to full time, and they in turn rely solely on the donations of students and practitioners to support their meager physical needs (food, shelter, clothing, and medicine).

In response to numerous requests from individuals wishing to clarify the process of giving in support of the United Buddhist Church and our primary teacher, the Most Venerable Sunyananda Dharma, we have produced this page, noting that the United Buddhist Church exists only to offer the teachings of the non-sectarian Dharma to all those seeking them, and in this no one has ever been denied practice for monetary reasons, nonetheless, the UBC is dependent upon the generosity of its supporters to function. Therefore,  we offer two types of regular contribution options, and accept any and all donations given in support of our Mission and Vision with the utmost appreciation and gratitude.

Sustaining  Supporter:
For those who wish to make a substantial contribution toward the UBC's operation, and the teaching efforts of our guiding teacher: $108 per month suggested minimum donation. This is the suggested level of contribution for students recieving personal instruction from our guiding teacher, the Most Venerable Sunyananda Dharma.

Sustaining Supportors are eligible to receive an official personalized UBC Training Passport issued from our headquarters, to record their affiliation with the UBC, their precepts, and retreat, training, and teaching attendance. Additionally, Sustaining Supporters enjoy free registration to all regular programming at UBC Headquarters (retreats, classes, and teachings).
